The Red Sea Dive Trip Report

The Red Ses Dive Trip Report!

That is a wrap for Blue Horizon Diving’s Red Sea trip, and what an insane adventure it was! From the moment we set sail on Emperor Diver’s MV Emperor Asmaa from Hurghada, it was clear that this journey would be unforgettable. Over the course of the week, we had the privilege of diving some of the most legendary shipwrecks and exploring the vibrant underwater landscapes of the Northern Red Sea.

Our adventure began with dives at the iconic wrecks that the Red Sea is famous for. The Thistlegorm, a British armed merchant ship sunk during World War II, was a highlight for many, with its eerie yet fascinating cargo of trucks, motorcycles, and ammunition still visible. The Dunraven, Carnatic, Ghiannis D, and Kingston were equally impressive, each offering a unique glimpse into maritime history. These wrecks were not just relics of the past; they were thriving artificial reefs, teeming with marine life.

But the trip wasn’t just about shipwrecks. We also explored deep walls that plunged into the blue abyss, offering breathtaking views and the thrill of the unknown. Fast drifts had us soaring over vibrant coral gardens, where the reef seemed to fly by in a blur of colours. The coral reefs we encountered were remarkably healthy, home to an array of species, from the smallest nudibranchs to the majestic Napoleon wrasse.

One of the most magical moments of the trip was diving and swimming with dolphins. These playful creatures graced us with their presence, creating memories that will last a lifetime. And as if that wasn’t enough, we had a thrilling encounter with a hammerhead shark, a true apex predator of the sea. Seeing this magnificent creature in its natural habitat was a humbling experience and one of the highlights of the trip.

What made this trip even more special was the incredible group of guests who joined us from around the world. With participants from Australia, Bermuda, the UK, the USA, New Zealand, and Lebanon, it was truly an international affair. The diversity of the group added to the richness of the experience, with new friendships formed over shared adventures, laughter, and stories told late into the night.

As we sailed back to port, the boat was filled with a mix of emotions—excitement, satisfaction, and a hint of sadness that it was all coming to an end. The memories we created, the laughs we shared, and the underwater wonders we witnessed made this trip truly unforgettable.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey and for trusting Blue Horizon Diving to deliver this incredible experience. You made this trip something truly special, and we can’t wait to see you on our next adventure!
