Galápagos 2028

Step into a living nature documentary and join us in exploring the raw and wild side of Gálapagos.

Overview

Welcome aboard the Humboldt Explorer to explore the Galapagos Islands with Blue Horizon Diving! The Galapagos is a pelagic lover’s dream, from diving with playful sealions to massive whale sharks and schools of hammerheads, a dive in the Galapagos is never boring.

We are chartering the MV Humbolt Explorer to take us to the world-famous dive sites in the Galapagos, including Wolf Island and Darwin Island, the most northern and remote dive locations of the Galapagos archipelago. These islands are uninhabited and only accessible via liveaboard. The currents in the area attract large marine life, specifically whale sharks, dolphins and hammerheads!

After 4 dive days at Wolf and Darwin, the boat makes its way back towards port, stopping at Cousins Rock for incredible wall dives on the way.

The vessel is very comfortable, taking just 16 passengers. All rooms are airconditioned and have ensuite toilet and shower facilities. The dive deck is large with plenty of room for cameras and gear.Relax in between dives on the sundeck or in the hot tub with a post dive snack, watching the incredible above water life of the Galapagos!

Diving

The Galapagos islands sit at the meeting point of several major ocean currents, this creates nutrient rich water that marine life love, specifically the pelagic life. This trip focuses less on coral reefs and more on large species.

The islands Islands are well known for their incredible shark diving, from Galapagos sharks to silky sharks, tiger sharks and hammerheads, this location is amazing for our shark loving divers. Whaleshark season is June- November, in this time it is not uncommon to see a large whale shark while diving.

Darwin and Wolf are only accessible by liveaboard and are the jewels of this area. The large seamounts and vast wall rising from deep water are perfect conditions for schools of fish and sharks alongside large rays. This is also the area with the highest chance for whale sharks!

Passengers are organised into groups and given an in-depth dive briefing before boarding pangas (tenders) and entering the water using a backroll entry. The dive masters know exactly what species indicate presence of large ocean pelagics and will strategically position the group for best viewing of the species. This is diving in raw nature alongside big animals that are on every pelagic lovers bucket list.

Upon completion of the dive, pangas will approach the group and dive masters will help you out of your gear and onto the panga, which will bring you back to the Humboldt Explorer where you will be met with post dive food and drink.

Galapagos is a cold-water destination. Regular temperatures in Darwin and Wolf are 21-24°C (70-78°F). Thermoclines can dip to 13°C (54° F) in the Western Islands of Punta Vincente Roca and Cabo Douglas, which stay cooler year-round.
