The Bali Dive Trip Report!
The first official Blue Horizon Diving trip is officially in the books, and it couldn’t have kicked off in a better place than the stunning Indonesian island of Bali! With its rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and world-class dive sites, Bali offered the perfect backdrop for this inaugural adventure. We were joined by an incredible group of guests from the UK 🇬🇧, Cayman Islands 🇰🇾, Australia 🇦🇺, and the USA 🇺🇸, all eager to explore the underwater wonders and soak in the unique experiences this island has to offer.

Our home base for the trip in October 2023 was the beautiful Bali Dive Resort and Spa in Tulamben, a sanctuary that combined luxury and convenience, making it the ideal spot to unwind after a day of diving. The resort’s beautiful setting, exceptional service, and delicious food made our stay truly special. After an exciting day of diving and exploring temples, we relaxed at the famous Sunset Point in Amed looking over the bay providing the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation. Watching the sun dip below the horizon from the infinity pool became a highlight, a peaceful moment to reflect on the day’s dives.

Diving in Bali is nothing short of spectacular, and our itinerary was packed with some of the island’s most famous sites. We started with the iconic USAT Liberty wreck, a World War II shipwreck that has become one of the world’s most celebrated dive sites in the world. Covered in corals and teeming with marine life, the Liberty offered an unforgettable experience as we explored its structures, now home to everything from schools of fish to vibrant nudibranchs.
The combination of wreck diving and Bali’s rich marine biodiversity made for some truly memorable dives. Each descent was like entering another world, where the past and present blend seamlessly underwater.
One of the trip’s most exciting moments was diving with manta rays in Nusa Penida. These gentle giants glided gracefully through the water, their massive wingspans leaving us in awe. Being in the water with manta rays is a humbling experience, and it’s something that will stay with us for a long time. The dive at Nusa Penida was a perfect example of why Bali is a bucket-list destination for divers around the globe.
This trip wasn’t just for seasoned divers; it was also an opportunity for new divers to take their first breaths underwater. Watching them learn and grow throughout the week was incredibly rewarding.
The enthusiasm and excitement of new divers reminded us all of the joy and wonder that comes with discovering the underwater world for the first time.
As the week came to a close, we looked back on a trip filled with adventure, relaxation, and new friendships. The blend of exceptional diving, luxurious accommodation, and the vibrant culture of Bali made this first official Blue Horizon Diving trip a resounding success.
