The Vanuatu Dive Trip Report

The Vanuatu Dive Trip Report!

As I sit at home looking through photos from the Blue Horizon Diving Vanuatu trip, I reminisce on the memories made, the incredible dives, and the amazing people we met along the way.

Vanuatu is a small country in the South Pacific. Flying in over the lush green landscape and bright blue water, we knew we were in for an unforgettable week. Seven days on Tanna Island was truly a treat. Arriving at the airport — so small it didn’t even have a luggage carousel, just a window where bags appeared — the adventure began immediately.

As soon as we hopped in the car bound for the resort, we found ourselves bouncing along rugged roads, following the coastline and passing by charming local villages. Eventually, we arrived at White Grass Resort, our home for the week. Fully run by locals, we were welcomed with warm smiles and an amazing welcome drink. Of course, we had to check out the beautiful rooms, drop off our things, and make our way straight to the dive shop.

We were so lucky this week, we had the boat all to ourselves! On day one, we ventured out to Blue Hole Two, which turned out to be some divers’ favourite dive of the entire trip. We weaved in and out of swim-throughs with incredible visibility and some of the healthiest coral I’ve ever seen in my life. Dives to remember forever.

In the mornings, we explored underwater. In the afternoons, we explored Tanna Island, visiting the famous Blue Cave and even getting the chance to see an active volcano. On the way to the Blue Cave, we passed through incredible, untouched landscapes — a rare sight these days. The cave itself was like nothing I’ve ever seen. You snorkel inside, and in the afternoon the sun beams through a hole in the cave roof, creating a stunning light display. The sunlight illuminates the fish below, and you can climb onto the rocks for some really epic photos, which, of course, we had to take.

The volcano is the reason most people come to Tanna Island. It bubbles, smokes, and rumbles, making you feel like you’ve stepped back into a prehistoric world where dinosaurs might still roam. It was a must-see on this trip and made for an amazing contrast to diving.

A week in Vanuatu flew by. While the dives may be over, the memories will last forever. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us in Vanuatu and helped make the trip as incredible as it was. We can’t wait to see you on future adventures and to dive with you all again soon!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey! Check out all the photos from the trip in the Gallery, plus they are free to download.
